I've been a New York Times shareholder for more than 20 years,

and thus I've suffered financially.  Yet, I side with management over the protestors.  I am far more concerned with the quality of The Times than I am with the price of my stock.  The two-class structure has worked for The Times, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal.  A merger of classes would make shareholders happy, but would jeopardize quality journalism.

The Governor of New Jersey is almost killed in an auto accident,

an acting governor assumes power, and The New York Times plays the story in only one column inch on Page One, below the fold,
and runs the full story in the B section?
