Not quite the reason. Stan, I suggest that you read the first twenty-five pages of the “Book of Mormon.” After that, you either buy the whole thing or you don’t. The more there are people who read those pages, the fewer the likely votes Mitt could ever hope for in any general election, let alone a primary. He would have to rely on the public’s general indifference to religion. In states like Texas, Alabama, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Georgia, and the Carolinas, he would see a lot of Republicans take a pass.
