300,000 law students and attorneys

have been granted class certification by a federal judge in the $300 million lawsuit alleging that West Publishing's BAR/BRI and The Washington Post Company's Kaplan, Inc., engaged in illegal activities in violation of federal antitrust laws.

If tuitions weren't so high and law schools weren't so ridiculously profitable,

formal legal education would be two years, rather than a wasteful three.

A conservative law professor had to go to the mats,

but he finally won the right to teach Constitutional Law at his law school.  The story.

against The Washington Post Company's Kaplan, Inc., and West Publishing Company's Bar/Bri Bar Review on the theory that the two companies "agreed to an illegal division of the [test preparation] market."

Many erstwhile West Publishing employees celebrated Valentine's Day

by receiving a check in the mail from their former employer, as part of a class-action settlement.  Thank you, West.
