An apartment in a "red brick" Manhattan building

is more desirable, and hence more valuable, than a comparable apartment
in a "white brick" building. 

So one shouldn't be surprised that more and more Upper East Side buildings
are replacing their facades, brick by brick, from white to red.

of the Manhattan residential real-estate market.

The speed of the gentrification of Harlem

is amazing.

The best part of the past-decade-long real estate boom

is not the ungodly profits made by the middle and upper classes. 
It's the rebuilding and resurgence of depressed and marginal areas, such as Newark, the Bronx, and parts of Brooklyn and Queens.

The amount of building construction in Manhattan is staggering,

in light of what happened in this city four years and four months ago.

Another reason that Manhattan condos

make much more sense than Manhattan co-ops.

Coney Island is still seedy, tacky, and tawdry,

but it has tremendous potential --
and at least one prominent misspelling.
